Turkey’s marble exports in 2017

Due to the rapid news on the economy of Turkey, Stonenews.eu is presenting the leading destinations of the country’s marble exports in 2017.

Stonenews.eu after studying the statistical results of the International Trade Centre and the National Statistical Institutes, is presenting the top marble export destinations of Turkey according to their share in export value in 2017.

Regarding the three main HS Codes of marble blocks and slabs- 251511, 251512 και 251520- China was and still is the top destination, although the exports to India were increased in 2017.

Regarding the two main HS Codes of finished marble products – 680221 και 680291- the spread of exports is larger, in comparison to marble blocks and slabs, however the U.S. was and remains the leading destination.

In 2017 Turkey’s finished marble products exports to U.S.A. exceeded 287 million dollars, accounting for more than 30% of the total exports.

Given that the U.S. are the top destination of turkish finished marble products, tense relations between the two countries and the imposition of tariffs from both sides raise reasonable questions about the possible impact on Turkey’s marble exports.
